Ailsa is a Bristol based writer, photographer and multidisciplinary artist. She began taking photographs and writing more seriously as a coping mechanism during her first major depressive episode. Since then, her work has been influenced greatly by her interest in and personal experience of mental illness, feminism, race, gender and sexuality. She is an advocate for mental health and wellbeing, and talks with 'openness, insight, honesty and humour' about her own experiences in a range of contexts.
